Ripe Pear Clothing
A Los Angeles-based clothing manufacturer wanted to explore the market for plus-sized couture clothing. The request was for an image that portrayed their line as an edgier choice, sensuous, and of course include a pear of some form to play off of the name. While the company made the decision to pursue another direction, this project remains one of my favorites in both concept and execution.
I wanted the pear skin to appear to blend naturally with the fabric on the underwear. This involved utilizing a handful of blending modes, gradient masks, and soft-edge brushes. I wanted the bite mark to occur as just part of the pear (to not blur the concept from “sensual” to “gory”) and to blend naturally there, as well.
